well, as my classmate should know by now, our larts a teacher entered me for the nonsensical annual LSY speaker of the year competition. honestly i wasnt very keen on going for the first round of auditions, which took place on wednesday, as i think stuff like these are a total waste of time!!!

i totally tried to get myself out of the competition by talking a LOT of bs in my impromptu speech which was given as 'exploitation', where i talked about how my larts teacher exploited the kindness of my heart by asking me to come down here just to fulfill a job she had to get done, and a lot more nonsense. and lo and behold, when i was done the first thing they asked was, "are you a debator?" scream! that obviously meant they thought i was good! obviously my refined posture and command of speech won them over despite the nature of the content XD

so as expected, the next day ms raj congratulated me about getting through to the next round during assembly and i was like !?!?!?!?!?!? oh well, only confirmed what i already knew, but i was at least clinging on to that little last bit of hope that i wasn't going to get in XD but haha anyway, she seemed really really pleased about it. seeing her delight caused me to think twice about flunking out... cos after all, shes a really really nice teacher, and i dont wanna let her down by bowing out.

and later that day, she passed me a little post-it with the topic of my prepared speech for the next audition, and haiz how to say... her desire to see her students excel, coupled with her confidence in me just managed to convince me to give it a full run all the way to the end, to the best of my abilities. i think i have a soft spot for kind teachers XD

so, for all you people know, you may be seeing me on stage in audi 2 sometime soon! i decided it may be a good way to get my ranting heard to the public anyway :P hahaha. but first i have to make sure the topic doesnt get rejected by the LSY organising committee... heh. and of course even way more before that is whether i even get through to the final round :P if i do, i'm gonna try talking about how exams are screwed up! woot! all i have to do is expand my 6 Oct '08 post to a few minutes long speech and i'll be fine... wow... if it DOES get rejected though, then i'm screwed!
